Kinex Judging app · Effective 10 September 2026

Kinex Judging is scoring software for rodeos. The Kinex Judging app runs on a judge's phone and sends the judge's marks to a laptop that the rodeo office runs, on the same local network at the arena. This policy explains what the app does with information, which is very little.

What the app collects

The app does not collect personal information for Kinex, and it sends nothing to Kinex or to anyone else over the internet. Everything it handles goes between the phone and the rodeo office's laptop on the local network.

To do its job, the app keeps these on the phone:

Signing out or uninstalling the app removes all of it from the phone.

The camera

The app asks to use the camera for one thing: scanning the QR code the rodeo office shows, which tells the app where the office laptop is. No photo or video is taken, stored or sent.

What goes to the office laptop

The judge's marks, with the judge's name or judge number and the time the mark was made. The rodeo office owns that information, as it always has with paper score sheets. Kinex does not receive a copy.

What Kinex does not do

App updates

The app may check for an updated version of itself through the app store or Expo's update service when the phone has internet. That check carries the app's version and nothing about the judge or the rodeo.

Children

The app is for rodeo officials and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
